Bay Area Advanced Dental Imaging

Dr. Bernstein’s expert use of advanced imaging technology provides him with the most clearly visible impression of his patients’ dental condition. This allows for incredible precision and accuracy in all aspects of Dr. Bernstein’s dental work, from diagnosis to procedure.

Digital x-rays

Digital x-rays are light-years ahead of the outdated film versions. Digital x-rays provide us with an instant image and come in a larger resolution for larger and more precise images. They require smaller imaging devices in the mouth, meaning they are much more comfortable to take. They can easily be reproduced and emailed. And best of all, they expose patients to 90% less radiation than film x-rays. Dr. Bernstein’s dedication to advanced dental technology means that our office has been fitted with digital x-rays since its inception in the mid-1990s.

Digital Photography

It can be hard to see what your dentist is seeing in x-rays and dental photography, especially with small images. Dr. Bernstein understands this and has outfitted his office with a high-resolution digital dental camera and a large flat screen television. With these, Dr. Bernstein can visualize what is going on in your mouth as well as he can with his magnified operating glasses. Better yet, so can you. It is enormously helpful for all both patient and dentist when Dr. Bernstein is able to educate and co-diagnoses with his patients using digital photography and crystal-clear images.

Cone Beam (CBCT) 3 dimensional imaging

Also known as CT, this 3D imaging technology allows us a full visualization of the structures of the jaws, teeth and the surrounding area in remarkable three-dimensional accuracy. This process is crucial for diagnosing sleep apnea, TMJ disorder, and other dental and air-flow conditions, as well as for visualizing the jaws prior to implant placement and diagnosing many other dental conditions.
