Dr. Bernstein relies heavily on advanced imaging technology for the most accurate diagnosis and the most appropriate treatment.
Digital x-rays provide an instant picture. They are also much larger than film x rays for easier viewing. They are more comfortable. They don't get lost. They can easily be reproduced and emailed. And they expose the patient to 90% less radiation than film x-rays. We have had digital x-rays in our office since they came out in the mid-1990's.
Combining a digital camera with a 32 inch flat screen television, Dr. Bernstein can visualize what is going on in your mouth as well as he can with his magnified operating glasses. And so can you. It is enormously helpful for all concerned when Dr. Bernstein co-diagnoses with his patients using digital photography.
Cone Beam (CBCT) 3 dimensional imaging
Also known as CT, this 3D imaging technology allows us to see the jaws, teeth and surrounding structures in remarkable 3 dimensional accuracy. This is enormously helpful for visualizing the jaws prior to implant placement, for evaluating airway adequacy, for viewing the TMJ, and for diagnosing many other dental conditions.
