Sedation Dentistry Without the Needle

In my cosmetic dentistry practice we are fortunate to be able to help people that have been avoiding the dentist for years. Some of these patients want to be sedated for their visits, but they are even afraid of the IV needles that are sometimes used to make them sleepy. One of the wonderful things about oral conscious sedation is that safe, common sleeping pills are used—not IV needles.

About an hour before each visit, all you have to do is take a pill. By the time you arrive at the office, you are sedated. You simply lie down in the chair and relax, while we take care of everything. The time passes before you know it. Many dental patients find themselves asking, “When are we going to get started?” when we are already finished.

Oral conscious sedation is an excellent way for fearful patients to safely and easily visit the dentist and wake up with a smile.
